
Frame layout has a big impact on a comic, especially with a portrait style that uses unique frames with each page. I'm trying to avoid having readers think "Huh, which frame/speech bubble am I supposed to read next?"
Each comic has a preset outer-frame (The thin border around everything except the comic title and my name. After making this, I then begin to place the lines to separate the major frames. Last, the small frames within frames-- in this case, Jess and Owl.
Before inking the comic, having finished the frames also gives me a chance to make any final adjustments.
Oh yeah, have you noticed the dimensions for ASP was changed? It used to be 600x771 px, now it is 600x885 px. Believe me, it made everything WAY easier for me!
